Anne Frank's House
Anne Frank's House next to her repeatedly published diary
are priceless testimonials of dark ages in human history.
The terror implemented by the Nazis and discrimination against
Jews, Gypsies and disabled persons pushed people in hidings
to avoid concentration camps and, eventually, death. The
story of Anne Frank's family is representative for what
must have happened to thousand of unknown other persons
and their families, reason for which it becomes so much
more valuable.
At Anne Frank's House, visitors can actually see the camouflaged
entrance in form of a bookcase, intentionally planned this
way to maintain safety. The emotional story of the office
personal helping the eight fugitives takes shape in the
multimedia room, where a complete tour of the house is taken.
The house bears marks of the heroine's staying there, quotes
of her diary and photographs. An unique feeling is given
by the presence of personal objects used by Anne Frank and
her family.
The tour in the house offers detailed information on the
general state of many other refugees in WW II and the dramatic
story of August, 4th 1944 when Anne Frank and her family,
Van Pels and Fritz Pfeffer were caught and transported to
different concentration camps. Sadly, the only survivor
of the group was the father, Otto Frank, while the rest
found forever peace.
Visitors are not allowed with cameras or large bags inside.
