In a city having a rich cultural and social past, middle
age buildings and museums, Stedelijk Museum brings modernism
in the public's attention. Temporarily moved on the Oosterdokskade
in the remarkable Post CS building for renovation reasons,
Stedelijk Museum gathers art's most exciting and valuable
items from the 19th century until the present day.
Visitors can admire some of the most controversial and talked
about works of Picasso, Cezanne, Monet and Mondriaan, but
also new artists' sculptures, paintings, printing drawing
and photography.
Stedelijk Museum is also a cultural station for traveling
exhibits from all over the world. The museum houses on Thursdays
evenings of lecture, screenings and cultural presentations
in an informal atmosphere.
You can visit the museum every day from 10.00 to 18.00 and
Thursdays from 10.00 to 21.00. The entrance fee is €8.00
for adults, €4.00 reduced and free for children under
7.
