I actually haven't been to Amsterdam but am planning to go end of this year. I been doing heaps of research on net about A'dam and i reckon October November. This is because this is when fall (autumn) starts and there is still warm temperatures but at same time it's not too cold. Also, this is not the tourist peak so not as crowded and some cheap deals around this time. And my MAIN reason for going this time happens mid November. The cannbis Cup! Ha but all that i've just said i've researched I haven't actually experienced. But I thought I would atleast share my knowledge and try help you out :)

Spring is great also. If you are lucky you can catch the tulips bossing and the Queen's day.

July of 2006 was VERY hot. We're going to try the first week in September next trip.

  5. I'm thinking by now Matty has already made is trip to Amsterdam. But for those of you reading this today, I would recommend a spring time visit. The weather can be cool, but its not cold. Wear layers. In April and May you can make a day trip to the Keukenhof and see a fantastic display of flowers with some trippy Dutch artwork throughout. Even if flowers aren't your thing, spring is great there. As soon as it gets the slightest bit warm outdoor seating becomes available for restaurants and coffeeshops alike. It is fabulous. November is cold, cold, cold. I'm from So.California so that makes a difference, but it was COLD! Whenever you go, have fun!
