In the last decade, Amsterdam has been included in the range of most visited European metropolis, receiving guests from all over the world. Whether they are Europeans searching for cheap plain or train tickets or non- Europeans interested in the shortest and comfiest way to reach Amsterdam, options vary and cover all means of transportation. The airport, for instance, Schiphol International, can be found in Europe's top five airports as size and functionality. See Transport from the Schiphol airport

Getting Around Amsterdam:

Amsterdam's true spirit can only be experienced walking or bicycling, as it is often claimed. Much of what is considered worthy of being seen in Amsterdam is located in the core of the city, which makes it easier for tourists to visit it by foot. Locals, however, prefer their bicycles to get around, as driving may turn into a real torment, especially within the canal ring. Visitors are also recommended public transportation, which makes it easier to find the right destination and arrive in due time.
